3D truFISP
Used in Noncontrast aorta exams in the CandyCane plane to decrese slices
Used for anatomic imaging in the straight axial plane when needed
Used with newer magnets for coronary MRA
Free breathing, respiratory triggered, retrospectively cardiac gated
Run free breathing localizer to obtain diaphragm position. This must be FREE BREATHING, so you have to re run the localizers, not use the originals which were breath hold. Move the sagittal loc to the right hemidiaphram.
Two methods:
1) SCOUT MODE
If "scout mode" is checked, the sequence will run shortly and determine the most frequent diaphragm position. It will be displayed as a number "MODE" on top of a histogram. You can then re-run the sequence without scout mode, and enter this diaphragm position as the search target.
2) NO SCOUT MODE
With "respiratory motion adaptation" checked, the sequence will automatically adjust for changes in diapgragm position throughout the sequence. No Scout is needed.
To prevent cardiac motion artifact from early R waves:
Capture Cycle, but then decrease the Trigger Delay manually by 100 msec. Do NOT re-capture cycle. This will give some wiggle room for the occasional early R wave, which will affect the 3D dataset.
