RADIOPHARMACEUTICAL: Tc-99m MDP
ADULT DOSE: 25 mCi IV
PATIENT PREP: Drink 16 ox water one hour prior to exam

- Auto-contour: ON
- Scan Speed 12 cm/min
- Camera peaked at Tc-99m with 15% window
Static Parameters
- LEHR collimators
- Matrix 256 x 256
- Zoom 1.0
- Camera Prest Tc-99m NMG
- Detector - both
- 5 minutes or 600 Kcts per view
SCAN PROTOCOL:
- Patient injected with radiopharmaceutical IV
- Wait 3 hours to begin scan
- Patient to void immediately prior to positioning on table
- All external metal objects removed prior to scan
- Lay supine, head facing out
- Scan superior to inferior (skull -> feet)
- Additional static views for areas of interest as needed
PROCESSING:
- Adjust acquired images for optimal viewing
- Label images
- Send images PACS
INDICATIONS: Metastatic disease, multiple myeloma, primary bone neoplasm, fracture/stress fracture, musculoskeletal pain, Pagets, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, fibrous dysplasia, metabolic bone disease, arthritis, abnormal alkaline phosphatase, abnormal XR/CT/MR, therapy response/therapy planning, bone viability, orthopedic hardware/prosthetic joint complications, heterotopic ossification/soft tissue calcifications
