Start on left RIGHT lower extremity if bilateral
- Sagittal CFV adn GSV with color and spectral Doppler
- Sagittal CFV with Doppler and Valsalva. If flattened or pulsatile flow, repeat on opposite leg.
- Transverse CFV (proximal to GSV junction) without and with compression
- Transverse CFV at GSV junction without and with compression
- Transverse proximal femoral vein without and with compression
- Transverse mid femoral vein without and with compression
- Transverse distal femoral vein without and with compression
- Transverse popliteal vein without and with compression
- Transverse popliteal trifurcation without and with compression
- Transverse posterior tibial vein without and with compression
- Transverse peroneal vein without and with compression
- Label and scan are of pain or palpable concern
- Sagittal posterior tibial and peroneal veins with color
Notes:
If positive DVT, label pictures with thrombus to help define extent of thrombus.
Use augmentation and document respiratory variation as necessary.
Identify and examime for duplicated system, label if duplicated.
Use color Doppler to help identify veins and presence of flow.
