Guidelines to scanning
- Gray-scale and Doppler evaluation of the region of clinical concern, as indicated by the patient. Sagittal and Transverse views.
- Gray-scale and Doppler evaluation of the region of clinical concern, as indicated by the referring provider (check order). Sagittal and Transverse views.
- You may scan the contralateral side for comparative purposes if needed.
Notes:
-show all abnormalities in sag and trans. Measure abnormalities in three dimensions- (length and AP direction on sagittal view and width on transverse view)
-if multiple lesions, then number and measure an appropriate number of lesions that can be followed on subsequent studies
-label specific location of the abnormality if not obvious on the static image. Label level of cervical lymph nodes, if possible.
